Global Database of Women's Organizations Involved in Peace
UN Women and the United Nations Department of Political Affairs (DPA) have recently launched a joint strategy on gender and mediation. The goal of this strategy is to achieve greater effectiveness of UN mediation efforts through the increased participation of women at all levels of conflict resolution and peacemaking and strengthened capacity to address gender issues in peace processes.
As part of this strategy, the UN Women Peace and Security Cluster is currently developing a global database of women’s organizations involved in peace. This “Global Database of Women's Peacebuilding Organizations” will be at the core of our renewed effort to enhance and better support national and local capacity building, foster knowledge and information sharing and develop efficient partnerships.
Please find attached a questionnaire on Women's Peacebuilding Organizations. With your help, we will be able to collect detailed information on organizations engaged at all levels of peace processes, from prevention to post-conflict peacebuilding. Once the database will be running, you will have the opportunity to learn about and connect with other organizations in your field at global, regional and national levels. You will also get the opportunity to correct your own information and add new elements.
Should you be interested to contribute to this project, we would be most grateful if you could fill out the attached questionnaire and send it back to us at
