Anne Fitzgerald, Consultant for Program Development
Anne provided the design for the GRW program format as well as key questions to ignite conversations. She will be working with Linda to expand program offerings which support on-going dialogue, women’s leadership, and taking action within The Global Room Community. Anne is the founder of ~Spirit at Work Global~ in Waltham, MA.
Her consultancy in based on her expertise in organizational development, facilitation of multi-stakeholder groups, developing partnerships for purpose, and coaching executive women leaders. She uses a model of leadership development that uniquely integrates competencies needed to lead in hierarchical organizations as well as the competencies required in de-centralized horizontal organizations that describe themselves as “grassroots”, “organic”, or “circle based.” Her favorite question is “What happens when women lead?”™
She holds a passion for women, spirituality, and the global issues of sustainability and peace.
In Kenya after meeting Aids widows who were making beaded jewelry to earn money to send their children to school, she initiated Beads 4 Peace - USA. This effort encourages US women to sell the jewelry as a fair trade product with all the proceeds returning to the African women. Her commitment to the women of Iraq grew from her friendship with
Dr. Naba Hamid, a professor in exile from the University of Baghdad. Together, they have a program on “Activating Women’s Wisdom to respond to the Women of Iraq.”
She has been a panelist at the Global Peace Initiative of Women in Jaipur, India (2008);
Presenter at the International Women’s Peace Conference in Dallas (2007);
Peace Ambassador to the African Grassroots Women’s Conference in Kenya (2006);
Presenter and facilitator at the Parliament of World Religions in Australia (2009) and Barcelona (2004); and an NGO delegate to the UN Commission on the Status of Women. Anne Fitzgerald or ~Spirit at Work Global~ can be reached at
